Memphis Cloth 1997

My interest in large-scale photograms began with this work, which was made for an Elvis-themed group exhibition.

Six panels 16x20 inches each are dry-mounted onto acrylic with day-glo pink painted on the reverse. The work was mounted 5 cm out from the wall, resulting in a halo being created on the wall around the work. As in the Party Pictures, the halo created could refer to the altered vision that is associated with either a spiritual experience, or a hangover.

Seven Years in the World without Passion 1997

In this body of work ideas of holy relics, communion, and artifacts are explored and subverted.
